AquaSearch recommend and recognizes only California type or similar hatching devices or vertical type or similar hatching devices. Please see the illustration on the subject. Only hatching devices that forces the water to pass through the layer of eggs can secure the water and oxygen exchange in the microenvironment of the eggs and repeatable good hatching results. Any other device is a gamble and will occasionally result in a bad hatching result or deformities and mortality at the time of hatching.
California trays are used primarily when very large numbers of eggs are being incubated and the water supply is not limited. Please contact Fakta-Fiber A/S, att. Carl-Christian Noergaard www.faktafiber.dk for further information.
Vertical tray incubators are essentially California trays arranged in stacks. They require relatively little floor space or water to incubate large numbers of eggs. The water is re-aerated as it flows through the stack of trays.
